Bill Scheetz grew up in Milford, NJ in Hunterdon County. He said he started coming to New Hope in 1983, going out to the Prelude, the Cartwheel, and the Raven. He loved New Hope upon his first impression.

Bill met his first partner at the Prelude in 1984 and they were together for 19 years.

He said it was “the area, the gay life, and friends??? that influenced him to call New Hope his home. It was also very important having an accepting LGBTA and diverse community in New Hope.

In 1995 he bought a condo in Village 2 and lived there until 2015.

Bill had a career in the auto industry. He could often be seen driving a vintage convertible in the New Hope Celebrates Pride Parade for FACT, Bucks County. Past FACT President Louis Licitra, thanked Bill for all the cars he lent to the organization for the parades.

He was also a member of the Garden Club and Partners In Progress, doing fundraising for town improvements.

He said, “It was a great community to live in and be a part of when I lived here.??? Bill found New Hope and Bucks County to be one of the most beautiful places in the country, loving the Fall and the Spring.

Bill enjoyed going to Square One Pub. He now calls Florida his home and is enjoying his time there with his friends.
